Tomorrow begins World Antibiotic Awareness Week. We often discuss antibiotics and their importance in Clean, Treat, Protect: First Aid for cuts and scrapes an wounds but antibiotics play a bigger part in healthcare than just this. This week, the World Health Organization (WHO) endeavors to education all that antibiotics are a precious resource and should be preserved. They should be used to treat bacterial infections, only when prescribed by a certified health professional. Antibiotics should never be shared and the full course of treatment should be completed – not saved for the future.
